My name is Debbie Barnowsky of Snelling Staffing Services in Auburn Hills, MI. If you are on this site you have either met me or have heard of me. I have been with Snelling for over seventeen years and have spent the majority of my time calling on HR professionals, business owners or other professionals who are involved in employment and all of the challenges included.
I remember when it was almost impossible to fill our open positions and we now find ourselves in the worst employment situation in Michigan's history. Add to that the changing federal regulations and I'm definitely hearing the need for HR networking. I know there are HR organizations out there, but I haven't found anything that I think fits. The "automotive impact" is not really understood by those outside our geographical area in Michigan. And we are all wearing so many hats that it can be difficult to network in person.
This brings me to my idea of a networking website. HR Networking.Net is only open to my contacts that I have made throughout my years at Snelling. Its purpose is to be a place where you are able to network with other HR professionals, to ask each other questions about employment law, benefits, how to decipher changing federal legislation, employee morale, etc. There is a "blog" type area to post comments or to ask questions to the group as a whole, and also a place where your name, company and e-mail is listed so you may talk to each other privately.
The only condition I have for use of this website is that you not abuse it. I will promise to keep all of the information private and I ask the same from each if you. This is a work in progress and we can build it however we want to. I will take all suggestions for the design and content of the website to the webmaster (my son). I find him to be very tolerant...
Thank you for taking the time to visit HR Networking.Net. Hopefully this will be a great tool for us all.
Sincerely,
Debbie Barnowsky, CPC, CTS, CSP
